Florence- Full Speed Ahead!
Florence continues its trek across the Atlantic and has the Carolina’s in its sights. Even though Florence is only at tropical storm status now, this system has proven to be a fighter and is expected to re-intensify and reach Category 4 status by Tuesday. The outer edge of the 5 day uncertainty cone is now over North and South Carolina with projected landfall/closest pass being Thursday or Friday.
Possible outcomes from various models;
- 40% chance Florence will continue heading west-northwest to northwest until landfall in North Carolina or South Carolina on Thursday.
- 10 % chance of landfall in Georgia or northern Florida on Thursday.
- 20% chance of landfall in the mid-Atlantic or New England between Virginia and Massachusetts on Saturday.
- 30% Florence will turn to the north just off the coast of North Carolina, then head northeast out to sea, without making any landfall.
